Downsize Pt 5

Christmas Over, gotta work...

So here I am.. Dreaded Box...

Books.

*sniffles*

So for starters I made three stacks.  Memories, How To, Other

So Memories.  These I cant toss... Scrapbooks, Signed, Special Gifts...

So I called family.  "Hey, I got this from Granny.  I wanna pass it to your 6 yr old!"  "Hey, you like Stephan King right?  I got his autograph..  "Mooomm!  Will you hold my scrapbooks for a few years?  I don't want them ruined in storage."

Not exact words but the right idea.  Don't toss your shit on your parents... I only gave her the scrapbooks because I didn't want them ruined in storage.  There was old photos from the Great great great grand parents and letters from the 1800s in these.  This was a special thing.  Priceless.  She wanted to take them too.

So for the most part, those items will all find their way back to me in time or stay in the family atleast.

Next:  How To

The internet is great.  How To books are only worth it if you cant find the info free.  I donated most of these and gave a few to family that liked the topic.  Survival, crafts, cooking, even a couple drawing.  They served the purpose.

I kept one or three.  But only because I knew the info was harder to find free or because it was just a great hand book (I kept my knitting book because it was small and super detailed on making some really difficult stitches.  And a cooking book for cast iron.  It has recipes, cooking over or in a fire, and great tips for cleaning and caring.  I think its worth the space.  Lastly was a book I got for Jack of All Trades type deal.  Like 101 things you can fix yourself and how.  Pipes, electric, even a some car work.  Its nifty and nice to have around).

Lastly, Books...

I read.  Digital and physical.

This cut me to the bone...

So first:  Did I like the book?

Next, what don't I have on Kindle.. Can I get it on the kindle for under 3 bucks?

Lastly What would I WANT to reread...

And that's what I kept...  Thanks to Kindle and about 100 bucks, I cut down to about 20% of my library... Only a walls worth.

I packed them all up and donated the others.

And now you know my heart ache... I took a couple to the local hospitals, old folk homes, and daycares (Yah, I had some from when I was younger.)

Its disappointing, but cleansing...

Merry Christmas!

And a Happy New Year!

Pinterest, for blogs and business!

Oh yes.  I'm getting hits thanks to PINTEREST.

Apparently its not just for crafts.  HA!

If you haven't been there before, Pinterest is google with pictures and links.  Its a lot of crafts, tumblr, fandoms, and selling pretty crafts..

Well I've had a few shares to Pinterest and I'm getting fricking hits.  True these are mostly my recipes and craft ideas, but still!

So doing a quick post on ways to get hits on Pinterest (I researched because that idea never freaking crossed my mind!)

1.  Pictures.

Having a pic just makes it look more interesting.

2.  Make account, pin your stuff, other stuff, ect!

No really, share your stuff and poke others to draw attention.

3.  Be "social"

AKA, make friends and share it around...

4.  Use POPPING titles.

"History of Boring" doesn't sound as fun as "CUTE KITTIES IN BASKETS!"  Caps not needed, but you get the idea!

5.  Keep it updated.

Don't post once and never again... Content draws views.

6.  Know your audience.

This goes in pinterest and anything...  Cats don't mix with cooking recipes.  I personally make boards and have them for different things.  Cooking, Knitting, Writing, Business, Cute, Funny.  Get the idea?

I can hide my stuff right in with that stuff.  Promote me, promote them, have a list of things I might need!

Okay, I'm done being helpful, I got gifts to wrap...

Quick gifts for Christmas! Pt 2-Gift Baskets

Oh, you heard me... I'm talking from a crafty side too!

These are things that beginners can do too!  Why?  Because sometimes a 10 dollar investment can be used to make a $30+ gift with little effort.

That sounds bad... But its true.  Its still more effort then a gift card.

Gift Baskets  $5+

You'll need:

A "basket" (Cups, Old tins, basket, ect)

Filling A (Big item)

Filling B  (Supporting Item)

Filling C  (Follows theme)

Three isn't just a holy number its the magic number.  Rule of thirds, Trinity, 3D...  I'm only slightly bullshitting here, groups of three tend to be more attractive.  But you can use more.

So you got the vessel to put it in.  Now you need the item that is the center piece.  Then you need something that would go with it.  And lastly a item that also meshes or might be seen in the group.

Ex.

Hot Beverage Basket

Mug

A-Tea/Coffee/Hot Coco (Sample sizes will work but include atleast three, or even a bag of their favorite variety.  Just make sure its enough for a couple cups!)

B-Flavoring (Theres Powdered Creamers, flavored syrups, even liquor if the person is a drinker!)

C-Snack or Topping (Marshmallows, Candy Canes, Cookies... You get the picture?!)

These sell for about 10 bucks at most stores but you can tell a store bought to homemade.  Not to mention that you can make it for less or make multiples depending on the size and quality you use.

Ex 2

Dinner in a Basket (Were going to say Italy style)

A long shallow basket

A-Tortilleni (Usually a cheesed filled noodle.  Pretty cheap)

B-Sauce (splurge and buy the more expensive brand, don't look too cheap!)

C-Bread/Butter, Dessert, Cookbook, Giftcard (To something like Olive Garden to keep the theme), even candles if its for a couple.

Something like this sells for like 20 bucks at stores!  70% of the basic wont cost you 10 and that's if you get the organic stuff.  But you get the idea.

Ex 3

Movie Go-er

A Popcorn Bucket (the plastic variety is pretty cheap at a number of stores-they look just like the bags from movies!)

A-Popcorn (Kernals if they can pop them, microwave bags, jiffy puff)

B-Seasoning Salts for Popcorn (These can be pricey)

C-A movie (Even if its a $5 bin find, just make sure its not used and something the person will like!) Or even tickets to a show (Or a gift card to a nearby place if their picky)

This is easily $20 thing for a movie alone.  But you can spend as little as 10 bucks for this if your getting a $5 movie.  Or even 20 bucks for a basket worth double that.

There you go!

You've made a gift and it'll mean so much more because it required some thought and your saving cash.

Win Win

Quick Christmas Gifts Pt 1-Knitting!

Oh, you heard me... I'm talking from a crafty side too!

These are things that beginners can do too!  Why?  Because sometimes a 10 dollar investment can be used to make a $30+ gift with little effort.

That sounds bad... But its true.  Its still more effort then a gift card.

Knitting.

Ahhh knitting... (Or Crochet if you prefer that)

Nothing says care like homemade items!

But it takes SO long, right?  Not always!

So I'm going to share a couple things that can be done in a hour to a weekend to make a GREAT gift!

1.  Infinity Scarf.

Thicker yarn and larger needles will make this a breeze!  Just use the desired stitch till it can be loosely wrapped around your neck twice and then sew the ends together with a whip stitch.

The super bulky (or bulkier) works great for this.  I like to cast on atleast 4 inches worth (Everyone knits differently so I wont share the stitch count).  Then I make it about a foot and a half to 2 foot.  That tends to work for me.

If you don't have needles look on YouTube for "How To Finger Knit"  Or ARM knit!  Arm knit will go faster, but finger will be tighter.  If you decide to do Arm knit you'll need atleast 2 things of yarn together to double up.

This will take 1-4 things of yarn depending on the method and lengths of yarn used.  Also on how big you make the scarf.

If your new to this, stick with a basic stitch.  The prettier/detailed the pattern the harder it probably is...

2.  Hood

Just like the infinity scarf but it'll be wider rather then longer.  1ft  across (Should measure from the edge of your left eye and the go to the back of your head.  Add a couple inches once it reaches the mid of your head).  Then make it long enough to go from your left shoulder, over your head and to the other shoulder.  Add a couple inches again to make it loose.  Fold in half to make it more square and sew atleast half way down one long side (Aka, the back).  Theres the top.

From here you can make a scarf (or two) that you attach to the front ends to be wrapped around or you can make a infinity scarf to attack it to!  Your choice.  Or you can add a puff ball and a braided chain to each corner in the front for a cute hat.

3.  Arm Knitted Blanket

For this you need EXTRA SUPER BULKY yarn!  That's not what its called.. But This yarn is mostly at special craft shops.  Its almost as thick as 50 mm needles and its about 6-20 bucks a piece (But its the size of a small sheep!)

Just do the basic stitch on and off using your arms as the needles.  This wont take you long because its thick yarn and larger needles.  Hah!  Depending on your arm size it could take more then one armload to get you through, but the size of the blanket is the real question.

Is it lap sized?  Full Sized Comforter?  KING sized?!  Yah, that'll make a difference in your needs.

4.  Pillow Cases

Hah, these are super easy.  Just do your favorite stitch for the size of the pillow you want to give.  You can do one long piece or two.  Just stitch the edges together as needed.  I like to add zippers or buttons so they can be removed and washed.

Well that's 4 easy things you can spend a weekend doing.  These make great gifts and are worth your time and effort because your time makes the small investment more memorable.

Happy Holidays!

Look, I don't celebrate every holiday there is and i'd spam the blog if I called them each out, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate each and every person who reads this.

So Happy Holidays to each of you.  :)  I just hope none started before this, or else I missed them, sorry!  ^.^;

(Also, in all honesty... I don't know how many holidays are celebrated in December, so many religions and beliefs... So don't hold it against me, I just want you each to feel the love!  In fact, why don't you enlighten us if you celebrate something besides Christmas?  Drop a comment with the day it starts/ends, what it celebrates, and who celebrates it!  Maybe next year i'll give it a special post.)

Im a Happy Pup!

See last related Post:  http://checklisttorandom.blogspot.com/2016/11/oooh-new-camper.html

I'm bouncing for joy!  I found my new home!

I went in with a 10-17k budget... But the sells rep kept insisting on showing things that were priced HIGHER then I wanted...

But, He showed me a 30k one that I love...

Look, being realistic I was expecting a 20-22k camper that was right at 17k after the sale price and maybe 20 ft long...

We needed space for computer desk so we were looking at getting Toy Haulers or campers with bunks that we could... "fix" to our needs.  Truth be told, a Queensize bed, Kitchen with fridge, burners, and sink, and a bathroom I could walk into without feeling like I was in a coffin... That's all I wanted.  But I need space for our PCs and dogs to stretch.  So yah, I was expecting a used but good shape toy hauler that was abit under 20 ft.  (Toy Haulers have about 5 ft of open space at one under for Motor bikes, 4 wheelers, ect.  GREAT space for full size desk or entertainment centers, plus they were basic and cheap.)

Back to the story though...

Knowing what I wanted he kept trying to push HIGHER models on me till we finally went to a toy hauler in my range.  It was 12k after sale, 15 ft, and SUPER basic.  I explained how I loved the open space, the need for computer desk, and the large dogs...

It clicked in his head EXACTLY what I wanted and he said "I know you like this, but I wanna show you this one other model.  It'll be like 21k after we factor in the sale's savings and I think you'll love it."

I caved... Glad I did.

It was BEAUTIFUL!

Wood floors, private queen size bed, huge table that covered to a king sized bed, pull out faux leather couch, full kitchen with a HUGE sink, two entertainment centers, a bunk house with a separate closet... Plus two slides (One in the bunk house, other for the couch and table).

I was drooling...  Then he showed me the outdoor kitchen and shower... The kitchen had a sink, fridge, and two burners... Summer days and camping... Oh, and the added kitchen storage.  That shower though... Well, lets just say big dogs are harder to fit in shower stalls... Even bigger ones.

So.. Yah... 5k more and I'm about to go sign on my new home...

I should be moving in Mid December.

Fun, fun!

Getting the Most Out of Thanksgiving Leftovers

Thanksgiving is coming and America is a VERY wasteful place!

So I wanna give tips to avoid this... Because wasting food is wasting money!

1.  Don't toss leftovers.

Does your family do To-Go plates?  If so-Freeze or eat it.

If not-Start!

If your family always had money then tossing food seems natural... like my father's family... But my Ma's from farmers... You waste NOTHING.

So don't toss the left over food, keep and EAT it!

2.  Make lunch plates.

Its hard to cook during the week and a healthy lunch is a rare thing... Save some cash by making plates to eat at work with a Meat, Veggie, Starchy Side, and even Desert if you don't mind it being heated.

Getting sick of it?  Well then...

3.  Freeze it!

Yap, freeze the plates, freeze that untouched pan of food, save it for a week so your not sick of it.

Alternative?  Can it if possible... Soups and gravys aren't so hard.

4.  Reuse!

Casseroles.  They are made by mixing meat, veggies, and some starch.  Potatoes, Mac and Cheese, dressing... Starchy bases!  Add other leftover and mix and match to your hearts content!

Too much Turkey and Ham?  In my home we call it sandwich meat..  Shred, slice, rip... Put between to pieces of bread and your set!

Soups, their GREAT for the meat and veggies.  All it takes is a stock base.

5.  Stocks and Broths

That YUMMY ham bone and HUGE turkey corpse on your table can give alittle more...  Toss them in a crockpot with some Veggie scraps (or even a few of the veggies) and let it stew for 4 hours on high or 8-12 on low.  Its a great broth full of thanksgiving flavors to get ya by for another meal or even upgrade your Christmas dressing!

Upside?  Bone broth is SUPER good for you and cans easily!

6.  Donate

Homeless shelters, churches, friends/family with little food... There's places the food can go to make a difference even after the holidays.  Do some digging or call your town hall and look like a saint while you avoid spoiling food.

7.  Compost.

Yah, I know most don't do this but thinks besides potatoes, onions, and meat will compost great for a garden.  Please don't dump it directly into the garden, animals and bugs will get it...  Though I suggest it, if you don't already do this then please research before starting or you may regret it.

Thanksgiving Alternative Meals

As yall know, I'm cheap!  And Turkey and Ham aaarrrre not!

So I looked up and asked around for a couple meal ideas for those who have small gatherings or need a cheaper option.

1:  Turkey and Ham Subs

Not original, but just as filling.

We actually plan to do this one, splurging on high dollar deli cuts and cheese and fresh subs covered in 2 pds of ham and turkey and some yummy munster cheese (1/2 a pd to be exact).

This was maybe... 25-30 bucks for the entire meal for 4 people and we'll have lunch for another day.  (Were buying ahead-Freezing to keep fresh!)

Down here a small ham was running 20 bucks, turkeys about 40!  So this is a cheap option even with the $10 a pd turkey and ham.  Not to mention the fact that no cooking needed.

Best part?  Got your two traditional meats and the bread takes the place of dressing.  Add in a veggie or some homemade mashed potatoes and you'll have the needed flavors at half the cost!

2:  Thanksgiving Casserole

This one came from the roomie:  Make a pan of dressing (Or mashed potatoes if you dislike dressing), shred a cooked turkey breast, toss in some peas and carrots, and smother in turkey gravy.

Cost you maybe 15 bucks or you can use leftovers from a earlier family event.  Its filling and great for small families but you'll have less leftovers to go bad or make you sick, bleh..

3:  Replace the turkey with This

Ground turkey is ALOT cheaper and honestly, how meat really comes out of that 10 pd turkey?  Maybe 6 pds after removing organs and bones?

Well there's my say for this, stay hungry!

Oooh, New camper?

See:  http://checklisttorandom.blogspot.com/2016/10/more-research.html

So its not my first time thinking this but I've thought about it... I want my own place and I'd love to travel.

So, I've been keeping my ears down to the ground and oyie, Campers and RVs...  The prices are UNREAL.

Anything newer then 2000 used was asking for close to 10 grand?!  REALLY?!  (Craigslist ads... They WAY overpriced them...)  And the pre 2000s were rusty, moldy, gutted...

Do you know what a "Hunting Cabin" is?  It means might have water and electric... Its a hauled over tent... That's what pre 2000s were.  Anything that was in good condition was easily 8 grand... And under 20 ft or a pop up.

So... I looked at new stuff from dealers... Found a dealer having a 30-40% off sell!

So guess whos going to look at new "Homes" this month?  ;3

Since the coming weeks are my Holiday Post line up, i'll be updating you after thanksgiving!

Gah! I made a blunder...

GAH!  I blundered, soo sorry!

To anyone who read my Weebly, I'm really sorry I stopped updating there too.  I just saw that things weren't being shared between the two like I planned... Soo... It hasn't been updated since August.

My bad!

At this point, it is becoming a hassle though to run both.  So i'll be posting to Weebly again like I am here when I get a chance, but come the end of 2016, Weebly might get a notice about future posting...

For now, i'll try to get the post shared over after Thanksgiving.

Thanks to Lunria who sent me a message letting me know!

In the Halloween Spirit or has Writers Block Lifted?

Hello, hello faithful ghouls!

So Halloween is coming and my mind has been flowing...

I've put up the basic draft for Hell's Playground 3 (need a editor...)

And I've started working on more chapters for a few of my Web stories (Also need editors.. ><)

And now I've wrote up plans for 3, one for a novel and two more for horror shorts.

I haven't been this busy since... Well, College.  Being in a haunted house can really get the juices flowing.

Sadly my Blog mojo is drying up while I sort through the book ideas, so bare with me?

I'll continue to post but they might be abit slimmer for a couple weeks while I work on some better ones.

Much love~

Halloween Candy Ideas!

Time for some Halloween ideas and isn't Candy a huge part of it?

Well its not like the old days...Homemade Candy and tampered with foods have been laced with drugs and even razors and always ends up in the trash.  But some of us enjoy doing more then giving out the plain old treats!  So I took a few ideas and compiled them for your enjoyment!

First I want to tell you what were doing...  Tissue Paper Sucker Ghost....

Sound stupid?  Well its actually kind of cute!

You take regular tissue (2 if its the cheap stuff) and put a suck in the center.

You then put ribbon or yarn around the suckers base and tie a bow.

Lastly you just add googly eyes or use a marker to add two (or more/less) eyes!

What you end up with is a ghost wearing a bow tie of sorts... Their kind of cute...

My friend is abit artsie so she'll add felt cut to look like witch or pirate hats, drag on eye patches, that sort of thing.  She saws that toddlers especially adore it!

She also does "Dum-Dum Spiders"

She takes 2 pipe cleaners, cuts them in half and then twists the four pieces around the base of a dum-dum.  She then adds googly eyes and bends the cleans to look like legs and sets they around the porch or on a table.

She says the kids can pick a Trick or Treat when she does that...  Needless to say shes enjoys this holiday!

Another idea is Gift Bags... But those holiday ones can get REALLY expensive!  3 bucks for 10?  I bet you have more then 10 trick or treaters...

Next thing to try is start buying them the year before on clearance or try making your own with yarn, some red paint, and surgical gloves!  (Latex free would be best dearies!)

First, splatter paint or dip the fingers into the paint.  You can get creative and cut off a finger or two and tie off the digits to soak in paint!

Next stuff with candy and pass out.

Not as cheap as the Dum-Dum spider but it would be great if your the type to give out a handful... This way you can GIVE them a hand!

Ya, I'm not funny I know~

Well those are what I came up with but why stop at three?  Heres a few others to try:

Be safe with these treats my friends!

More Research!

As promised I'm following up on my Housing idea post and I gotta say a lot of people do this.

I'm really into the idea.

Camper is really a bigger thing to me then RV though...

I'll need a couple hundred items to go with both but I've handled trailers before so I think learning to haul a camper is more up my alley then a bus sized RV...

So far the tips I've found are Smaller is better if your going to be on the move, and if your going to stay put go for some upgrades to deal with faulty power.

A friend suggested I look into Composting toilets to say on my black water tank since without the toilet water it'll just be "Grey Water" and I can dump that into trees...

First off let me explain that part:

Grey Water is Sink, shower, everything but toilet water.  This is safe to dump only plants you wont eat (flower gardens, trees (even fruit trees!), and grass).  This is easily recycled.

Black Water is really sewage... Its EVERYTHING but its reclassified because what a human produces is toxic unless its properly disposed of, AKA dumping stations for blackwater.

In the camper case, I think i'll look into setting up two tanks.  One for toilet and grey water and another for ONLY grey water so I can dump more easily if we do boondock.  A composting toilet is great when you have a place to compost but when moving that will be a lot harder.  And I want the freedom to move without a mulch bin on my campers ass.  (FYI, compost is toxic to animals so you wouldn't want to have that in the open.  If dumping grey water you'd wanna make sure there were no puddles too.  Puddles attract pest and blood suckers)

But thank you camping friends for that... Info.  Naturally they camp more on their land so dumping compost into a hole to bury isn't to big a thing for them and since its never more then a week its never much.  Same for bathing and dish water.  The ideas were really awesome.

Next I was warned about Humidity and mold.

Campers leak.  And if it goes unknown for too long you end up with mold IN the walls which must be ripped out, cleaned, and replaced.  Its costly and expensive.

But it can be avoided by winterizing, sealing, parking under cover (not trees but a awning), using dehumidifiers, opening windows when using heat/cooking... Pretty much a lot of what you'd do for a basement or old house.

Air flow, a good "Roof", sealing, and alittle help from dehumidifiers and moister absorbers.  I know a good dehumidifier runs a few hundred but I've already picked a 15 dollar one.  I plan to get one for each room and a few of the moister absorbers to help keep it nice a dry.

Because of the dogs and living in this thing, i'll probably add on front to back fans (to generate a breeze, saw that suggestion on a living with pets post), and of course windows will be opened to allow doggy sniffing.

In case theres already mold, i'll probably be checking behind sheet rock...  That stuff can be toxic!

Its not a lot of room...

Ya, Campers are going to be like a galley kitchen.  Long, crampt, and straight.  I've lived in small Apts... I can deal.

If you go for one with slides you can increase your walking space!  Plus I don't need everything...

Were a couple, we need ONE bed and we need computers not a table so we can get rid of second beds, the dinette table/bed combo they often have, ect.  What we do need is a desk (long table works!), dog bed areas (hey I opened the floor plan with that dinette gone), our kitchen (Only I cook so, smalls cool..), a bed room/bed area (Hey, gotta sleep!), bathroom (Again, its a need but most have these!).

Laundry room?  Hah, were use to laundry mats.  Big bathroom?  Please, I don't do make up.  A sink is for brushing teeth and a tub is for showers!  A toilet just needs to let me fit.  I'm not picky.

Closet and storage?  I'm down sizing stuff and I have maybe 12 shirts and a couple pair of pants...  Be realistic, my boyfriend has more clothes then me!  I just need my kindle, coffee maker and coffee, computer, and pets...  Oh, and my boo of course...

I'm a simple person!

Dog food?  Pfft, we moved to a raw diet.  Cost about the same as their dog food and its saving vet bills.  Then again I didnt feed my babies the junk stuff.  It was 30 bucks a week for high quality like Flint River, Call of the Wild, and Rachel Ray wheat and corn free!

To be fair, high quality food reduces Dr bills so its a healthy investment.  Plus they eat about what we would so its not hard to keep the items fresh and not increase the amount we buy.

Downside?  I like to buy in bulk but I probably wont be able to go buy a 50 pd bag of rice for 10 bucks...  Ever seen those?  Their HUGE and HEAVY bags!  Be hard to store canned (home canned that is) goods.  Their abit bulky.

Well, I think that's long enough for now!  Till next time!

Rant: Racism, BLM, Sterotypes

Side Note:  I like every race just fine, I don't think every person on Gov Aid is abusing the system, every black person with a few nice things is not abusing the system, I do not think Gov Aid is a bad thing-I do think a lot of people abuse it though, I don't think ONLY blacks abuse the system either... I know whites and Mexicans do too, I do not Support BLM-I believe all lives matter-but I hate BLM because I feel its used to justify hatred and crimes towards whites and cops which isn't equality that they claim to want.

With any good cause you will have the bad apples...  But when your riots are more about looting and beating people to death its gone too far.

Let me start out by saying I have nothing against any race or religion.  My hate is based more off the person then who they are... If that makes sense.

Example?

Person A is black, has a good job, but is a child rapist.  Person B is white, lives in the slums and just tries to get by.  Person C is Mexican, here illegally but wants to become legal and does lots of charity work so they can become part of the community.

Out of the three I have a issue with Person A.  But ONLY because of what he has or does do to kids.  You can replace the race with anything and i'll still feel the same about all of them.  Why?  Because Race shouldn't matter.  For God's sakes, I lived in Atlanta... If I had issues against race i'd probably be dead by now.

Now that we've got that out of the way..

Black lives matter calls for equality.  That's good and dandy.

I hate it because it turned into something else.  Right now its protest that turn into full on riots.  Its a Good cause being used to make up for HORRIBLE CRIMES!

If you listen to OTHER black people you'll hear them say how these riots turn on their own community, kill other blacks, cops, and even people just in the area as well as trashing anything in their path.

You can see footage of people being beaten because of their race BY BLM supporters...

So I was born white.  Does that mean I deserve to be beaten?  I was born white so I most have money and be from slave owning families?  Wrrrooonng.  If you've read this blog, you know I struggle.  I stretch a few bucks for a months worth of food.  I don't get any aid and I wasn't born with a spoon in my mouth.  In fact, my family has ALWAYS been poor!  I'm from SHARE CROPPERS!

Let me enlighten...  Slaves were EXPENSIVE.  A slave could EASILY cost as much as a cow and a couple chicken.  These animals can graze for their food and give food in return.

A slave could earn half the wage a white man could which wouldn't really pay for much more then their food.  They could help tend crops but they didnt out right produce food.

A Chicken lays eggs.  When its done laying it can be eaten.  Can produce more food.

A cow gives milk.  When its done it can be eaten.  Can produce more food too.

A Slave is a human that could not be eaten and without huge plots of land to work enough to turn profit it was just paying for its own food.

This all being said, my point is slaves were expensive.  Most people had them for a status thing.  This was VERY few people too.  In the South you had five people:

Labors:  Share croppers, railroad workers, dockers, ect.

The Rich:  Gov officals, plantation owners (VERY few.  You might have a couple per state!)

Middle Class:  Store owners (these were the people with enough to get by in the way of buying and trading with hopes of profit.

Slaves:  Property... Not always from Africa (sorry to disappoint you but Irish, prisoners, Native Americans, just about anyone could lose their rights and be made a slave.  Ah, side note...  Your own people sold you.  If your family wasn't slaves here, they would of been in Africa because they enslaved their people too!)

But I'm ranting now, aren't I?

But this is what a lot of people get high and mighty over in BLM.  Whites owned blacks.  But 90% of the whites couldn't afford to, they were treated worse then slaves because they were expendable!

Now lets move to after freedom and civil war...  Lets move to Civil rights.  You had peaceful protest like Martin Luther King.  Made a huge difference.  But you'll notice he didnt hate whites... He didnt ONLY want blacks to be treated fair.  He wanted ALL people to be treated fair.  He wanted to forget the mistakes of the past and move on to a better future.  BLMs and its riots spit on his dream...

You want equality?

Then lets talk about what its like to be white and poor.  No food stamps.  No Government housing.  Working two jobs.  MAYBE getting WICK for the kids.  Maybe All Kids for the kids... MAYBE.  Wearing clothes that have been mended for 7 years.  STAPLING your shoes to keep them another week, Getting said shoes for 50% off out of season when  no one else wears them.  Having two pairs of shoes that didnt cost you 10 bucks and making them last atleast 3 years...

That was my life.  Its the life of a lot of whites because our parents wont ask for help or cant get it because they have a job at all.  My mother raised me solo getting the minimual wage...  When prices went off she pawned her car title once to pay for a busted pipe and our barely making it went away and we were always in the red.  We shared a pack of ramen a day we were so poor... So she swallowed her pride and asked for food stamps.  They took one look at her and told her no.  She'd never get them.

She insisted on the application and they asked her "Got a job?"  Yes, but I only make... "You got a car?"  Yes, but it barely runs.. "How many kids?"  One.  "Wont qualify."

My mom left in tears..  We were starving and because she had a job and car we couldn't even get food stamps to help us buy just alittle more.  So she got a second job...  I saw her for 10 minutes every morning before school when she'd drop me off on her way to work and she'd get home so late i'd not see her again till morning.  That second job got us out of the red and she quit the moment she paid off her title again and we got to eat PB&J and ramen each day again.  I grew enough veggies to get green in my diet.  That was my life.

When I went to college I had about a thousand in pell grant each semester (like one class), Loans, and Grants to get me by.  I raked up debt that I'm still paying off.  I still stretch my budget.  Still work.  Still get no aid but the pell grant but I'm not in college now...

My TV isn't a flat screen.  Its a Tube.  You know, the heavy fuckers?  I have little to no credit card debt.  But I carry alittle to build credit score.  My computer is 14 years old.  I got it refurbished from a friend...

Do I seem like a privileged white girl?  Well I am in a way.  I have people who love me, I get by without help, I pay my dues and am independent.  I'm happy I grew up poor, it taught me to strive for better.  You'll find most whites with money were like me.  They strived to be better.  Were not all like Paris Hilton, weren't born with money.

You want equality?  Teach your kids to want more in life and work for it.  I know not everyone living off the system is abusing but many are and they teach their kids to by telling them or letting them see that they are.

I had three friends.  Ones mother went to the ER weekly for drugs to keep her "disabled" title and free housing, food, ect.  She then sold her food, drugs, and rented a room to strangers for cash.  Lets just say she always had the "New" stuff...

The other had a mom like mine.  She worked but they had debt so it was like getting out of a hole.  She stressed the need for education.  She told her daughter to NEVER need help.  She wanted her to never need a man or the Gov. aid she was getting which was only cheap housing and food which gave her a chance to pay bills.  This friend studied hard and might get new items every few years to keep her from wearing torn clothes because they didnt sew like I did.

My last friend..  She had a disabled mother.  But her mom volunteered and got child support.  She got gov aid, cheap housing, ect.  This friend... They had money to spare which they saved to buy new clothes each school year.  She got an allowance and bought her own stuff or got it from friends.  She was a mooch.

Why did I say this you ask?  Well two are black and one is white?  Can you guess who?

One moochs off the system.  She still has new everything and I'm so sad to see it because she was a dear friend.  She started because she was with her mother who taught her how and was proud of this.  We are no longer friends and I cant respect her because of how she lives her life...

The other is in School.  I'm so proud shes in college and we still chat but were abit distant now due to life.  And yes, she is black.

The last is white.  Shes in college but still mooches.  She wants food stamps, free school, and housing like she grew up with.  She cant get all these things and I out right laugh at her whining.  I remind her that I'm doing the same with less and getting by.  It still amazes her that I have a 14 year old HP as she sits with the newest iPad in her lap.  We still talk but not as much since I have little to offer.  She likes to whine to me, but I think she enjoys to ass kicking I give when she does.

Look, I'm off track.  But I'm not writing a paper here.  My whole pointed started because I just hate BLM.  They are the Blacks version of the KKK and the Nazi Party...

They are calling for attacks on anyone for the color of their skin and even their own people who they don't agree and their protest turn into looting riots.  They want equality they say but they want it in the form of more free stuff and money.  They want to justify their attacks on cops and any white person by blaming people that are long dead for things that happened to people also dead...

Just recently in this small town a kid was beaten to death for saying "Blue Lives Matter too."  He was BEATEN to death for thinking all life mattered...  This kid wasn't even 20s.

Let me be frank.  BLM is about free stuff.  Blacks have the same rights.  You started the BS of a few kids getting killed by white cops.  Let me tell you a hard truth.  Cops are people.  You act like a thug and they react thinking its you or them.  You say you have a gun and try to reach for it they freak.  There are good and bad cops.  There are racist blacks and racist whites.  Get over it.

Heres a story.  I'm in the car with a friend.  Both white.  Her steering wheel is locking up so she starts swirving and trying to pull over.  A cop pulls up behind us screaming we stay put.

He comes over hand on gun and flash light in our faces demanding our IDs and if we have been drinking.  She reaches for her purse and his gun clicks and is pointed at us.

"Pull a gun and i'll shoot."

"What the hell makes you think we have a gun?"  Well, there might be a NRA sticker her dad put on the car to scare off boys from his daughter...  "Look, my wallet is in my purse.  Do you want the whole damn purse?"

He reaches in, grabs it DUMPS it out and looks at her ID and makes us get out to do the test.  We pass easily.  He then searches our car...  He mistakes her asprin for drugs...  Her phone goes off and HE answers it saying were being arrested for drugs!  Oooh yah, that didnt go well.  Before he got us in cuffs her uncle and dad showed up ready to kill her.

Needless to say more cops showed up... Found out it was asprin.  Had a K9 unit sniff her car..  It was clean.  Were laughing our ass off at the stupid cop, not trying to hide it.  Shes telling the other officers about the gun pointed at us, dumping her purse, ect ect.  Her dads turning red with anger.

"They were swirving!" He yells!

"Steering wheel locked up, I was trying to pull over!"

Her dad went under the hood with another cop.  Turns out someone had fucked with stuff under her hood, cutting into the fuel or oil chamber, scored her battery and break lines...Even loosened bolts around parts.  It was a walking time bomb on when she'd end up crashing.

The cops take statements.  We get towed.

Call a week later and there is no report.  Only a report saying that officer dipshit pulled us over due to erratic driving and called us a tow truck due to "Engine Damage."

Two white females... We were threatened by a cop, had our case thrown out and rewritten because he had harassed us, and now we'll never know who fucked her car up...

As far as the car went, we were on a "Road trip" of sorts where she took me to see a movie in Birmingham for my B'day...  It was a dark parking lot and late night horror marathon.. It was just going to be too hard to find out so they didnt want to try.  Insurance covered as we called the place no video in the area we parked so no telling.  Upside was she ended up with a newer car due to damage.

This stuff happens everyday though.  Bad cops will harass and threaten people because their corrupt and power tripping.  They know their buddies will help them so they feel immune.  Race rarely means anything.

Good cops will react and do stupid things.  If they feel threatened then their going to try and survive by threatening back.  If you attack they fire.

Smart way to avoid this?  Never be alone.  Never fight back just do as told.  Know your rights.  Be sure to be in a well lit, public place.  Also... Make sure its a real cop...  I've had people try to get into my Apt in Atlanta by wearing costumes or having stolen badges.  If its a real cop they will understand you wanting to make sure.  If they don't then they are doing something illegal or their not a real cop.

As for BLM...  Fuck off.  Get Equality by getting any job you can and going to college on the free grants, and all those minority/black only scholarships...  (Btw, ever seen a WHITE only scholarship?)  If your grades aren't good enough to get these then don't blame schools...  You can study yourself and do better then they can teach.  Don't say the worlds against you cause your black either.  This is 2016.  Most of us grew up going to school and sharing everything with every race.  We have a variety of friends and even see it as acceptable to date other races and the same gender.

If you want to blame anyone, blame yourself for falling into a state that lets the government heard you like sheep by waving food stamps and free this or that in your face...  Its not Aid, its potential wasted.

If you wanna be seen as more then a thug then pull your pants up and wear clothes that fit without being four sizes too big.  Dress the way you want to be seen.  If you can afford $400 pair of shoes, you can afford a cheap suit and decent pair of shoes.

Fun fact:  In prison if your ass or boxers are visible its not "Swag" its a invitation for sex.  :)  Something for ALL guys doing that... Also.  Girls don't find it attractive...  Not white girls or black girls... Seriously.  Its not sexy to watch a guy grab his pants with both hands and yank them up so he can KEEP up.  If you find a girl that does like that then good for you.. Everyone has some weird kink.

Bah, if you made it this far good for you!  You truly value my opinion and I thank you for that.  If your opinion differs that's fine too but I hope you took mine with a open mind and I will take yours the same.  If you comment please share detailed thoughts with reasoning... I actually enjoy hearing well thought out debate.  or reading in this case.

Thank you again for reading, I promise next week wont be a hot button rant!

Downsizing! Part 4

This one will have more then one thing since it didn't effect me!  (HAH!)

Part 4:  Closet

1.  Stop me if you've heard this one, but theres a trip where you turn ALL of your hangers the wrong way and then at the end of the year you see whats left and get rid of it.

Naturally you need to keep that one suit/dress incase of a funeral or job interview... And maybe you wanna hold onto those jeans from high school to use to encourage you to lose weight...  But lets face it.  Those jeans aren't in the right place to help you say no to fast food and ice cream.

So unless it cost a arm and a leg and is for special occasions, donate it.

Also:  The Queen is never asking you to lunch.  Nor is the president.  You need one, maybe 2 nice outfits and atleast one of them has to be for a funeral.  Unless you dress up daily for work the rest can go...  But if you do that daily then you apparently have avoided that outfit for some reason.  Toss it.

Now I know this sucks because weight loss places tell you to buy smaller things to encourage you to lose, but the back of your closet is full and its not doing any good.  Unless your SERIOUS about it, your not doing anything but wasting money and space...  But, if you must, see below!

2.  Vacuum seal.  Its not just for meat!

Get your space bags and vacuum and shove those out of season items and/or things you want to keep out of your hair.  Maybe under that hell hole that is your bed!

If you have kids, stick them there.  Tell them it keeps the monsters away and cure two headaches.

3.  Store Seasons.  No really, if its 100 degrees then sweaters can be put somewhere with less traffic till their needed.  Vice versa for the tank tops and swim suits come winter.

4.  Shoes...  You don't need a million.

Look, I know its against the norm, but I am a woman.  I own 4 pairs of shoes.  House Shoes, Winter Boots, Summer Shoes, and Hiking shoes.  For a brief time I owned 5, but my running shoes were devoured by a puppy.

I live with these 4 pair and life is fine.  I have flip flops, slippers, insulated boots, and some good hiking boots.  Naturally a pair of dress shoes or running shoes can be added, but I cant fathom the idea of having more then 10 sets of shoes at a time...  And even then I'm having trouble figuring out what kind of shoes i'd need to fill the space.

Ladies and men...  If you have more sets of shoes then you have fingers and toes then you might have gone overboard and need to considered therapy and donating...  I say this because we all know the woman with 5 different shades of pink heels... Same heels, just different shades...  Same with men.  We know that guy with 5 pairs of dress shoes because their "Different" but they looks like the same shoe with a different price tag and name attached.

Give me flack, but I speak the truth your loved ones live!

Your wallet might be in tears too at this time.

5.  Theres a spare and then theres too much.

Be realistic, you don't need things like a rain coat or warm jacket to match your outfit, your only wearing it to get from point A to B.  So why is it you buy 12 so theres "options"?!  The yellow rain coat works JUST like that grey one.  I promise, it doesn't have to match your shoes, it just needs to keep you dry.

Maybe you have a small one for light showers and a heavier one for hurricane season.  This is okay.  But you know when you have passed the limit better then I.

Well, this was a treat.  I think I'm going to go take a calming shower... Trying to focus on tips about clothes and closets isn't my style and makes me feel so dirty...

New Home Ideas?!

Yaaah I just moved in and all this downsizing has me thinking about the living small movements...

Tiny Homes, RV/Camper Living, Ect.

You see I do Freelance and my boyfriend does Surveys and YouTube... We live simply and on a budget.

A friend broached the subject of tiny homes to me.  40k and some elbow grease could get me a paid off tiny home.  Or I could do 10k and get a really nice RV or camper and keep renting by doing camp grounds.

The Idea REALLY appeals to me.  Being young the idea of moving about is appealing.

So I did research... RVs are a pain because their giant cars.  Engine blows your SOL.  Campers have to be pulled.  But either way I cant drag my home to the store, job interviews, ect...  So a RV would need to haul a vehicle and a Camper would be hauled.

Needless to say campers seem less hassle so I'm going to do more research into them!

So far, I think a campground will be average 600ish a month for all hookups and water/electric.  We'll need a dish or data plan for internet... On months were low we can boondock and go off generators/solar panels and fetch water by staying at free ones (that might be 200 a month if its not free+water plus solar panels/generators be a easy 500 buck investment..)

Either way, I think it would be a great way to save cash, see the world...  I wanna do it!

So I'm going back to my research, i'll keep yall up to date!

People are EVIL

I recently looked at Pinterest...

Well, my interest bring up many odd things... Pranks, petitions of horror that needs to be stopped, prepping, tumblr, ways to get away with murder...

So in a short week I know how to properly butcher a human, and get rid of evidence or a way to just destroy the body...

Ah, but that's not a issue.

Tumblr though... Oh it ruined...

I have childhood memories.  Those post ruined them!  I cant watch Courage or Scooby Doo the same you bastards!!  Those were my FAVORITE!!

But worse part is it can be sweet, it can be intelligent, it can be defending people against racist, breaking sterotypes, calmly sharing views, finding out whos butt is in a close up picture...  Honestly, sites like tumblr and reddit could be used to solve cold cases.  Its full of people with nothing to do but resources you never think to use and skill sets you may not have.  Its inspiring.

But then its evil.... I mean the happy face balloon prank was fucking horrible.  This is the only site that can make something so pure become so terrifying!

And then makes something scary sweet and cuddly...

Be afraid.

Ah but my point.  I keep seeing the prank post and oh are they devilish.  I wont spoil it, but my favorite ones are always the saw themed ones...  But the the frozen mentos isjust wrong... Same with any that hide toilet paper.  You even bastards.  Leave the toilet paper alone!

But, it evens out.

I found these posts called "Faith in Humanity" and they really brighten my day.  So whenever I have a bad day or need a pick me up I look for a meme of them to help my cheer up.  The idea of good in this world always makes me feel better.

Needless to say, Pinterest is a fun site and I suggest using care when pinning items.  Because that one prank you found cute opens a door way you cant close...

A Moment of silence...

I am American, and my none American followers can stick a sock in it.

I'd like a moment for everyone to please pray for the families of those effected in the 9/11 plane crashes.  As for the men and women in the military and the citizens over seas that are caught between.

You don't have to like the US, you don't have to like the war.  But what makes us human is that we can understand the suffering of others...  They are all human.  Soldiers are not war machines, they have hearts and bodies that feel pain..  The people effected by 9/11 will have wounds that never heal as children grow without parents and parents bury their child...

So whatever you belief, please think of them as human beings and pray for your fellow humans.

Be safe.

Downsizing! Part 3

Part 3:  Bust the Misc Boxes!

I cant be the only one who "saves" things because they still work but got replaced.

Well, we have the "Electronics" box...

This has been around since I was in middle school.  It holds any still working mouse or keyboard, misc wires, manuals, ect.  It is a VERY large box.  I mean fit a old fashion tube that measures 30 inches big box.  In fact it might of been...

All the same, we popped that open and we counted 12 key boards, 20 mouse (3 wireless), a tangled mess or 6 of cords, and manuals that dated back to the 40s.

So first step:  We saw what we could still use of the manuals.  We kept two... And that was because one was for our stove, the other for my computer.

We had an original computer manual from the 90s, some for old appliances, a car manual that we no longer owned, and one for a insulin breathing mask that I out grew in Elementray school.

Next we tested the mouse and keyboards.  (atleast the the USB ones)  The ones we couldn't test we donated anyway since someone might need the old fashion stuff.  The wireless mouses didn't work (even with batteries) so they got tossed and 3 keyboards had busted keys ad got tossed.

We kept one mouse and one keyboard as spares... Because you never know when these will act up.

The cords... Of we tossed any we couldn't identify in under 30 seconds.  This left us with 2 that we knew and still could use.  And that was mainly because they fit our phones.

The others got tossed.

Next we hit the "Misc" box I packed.

This one was mainly things I forgot to pack or waited to the last minute to pack...  It was mostly dirty clothes, some soap, and extra dog leashes... We actually kept all that because our dog chews his leash so we always keep extras of them... We can go through two a week or 1 a month depending... So that IS something we keep on hand.

But enough on me for once...

I know everyone has that "junk" drawer.

Go clean it out and organize what you need from it.

Tell me what strange things you find in your own junk box/drawer.  Lets share the pain with complete strangers so we might feel less alone!

Downsizing! Part 2

Next lets talk... Duplicates...

Part 2:  Ditch the Doubles and Multiples!

I know, you should be prepared with two, but you cant live in a small space and only have a 5x5 storage room and keep two of EVERYTHING!  Let alone has SEVERAL of everything...

Silverware.

I'm sorry but when its two people, you don't need a set of 8 plus odds and ends from god knows where. (I counted 24 forks...A large one, and 2 small salad forks... The other 21 were just regular forks)  My solution was to donate it in general.  It cheap and had plastic handles but it was a full set.  The odds and ends were put together in bundles of 4 with the extras recycled.

Same with dishes and cups (though I kept 99% of my coffee cups).

We really didn't have any sets here so we just trashed the chipped and broken stuff.

Sadly, having a crafty friend trash wasn't good enough... But I liked the first part of the process and the end result.

We smashed all of that (including a mug that I treasured... Even though the bottle was missing..).  She then took the pieces and used them with concrete to make small walking stones.  She even made a special one for me with my broken mug.

In the end, that left us with three plates, its-not-your-business-amount of mugs, 4 mismatched plastic cups, and 2 glass ones, and 6 bowls.  We kept the three plates so we'd have a spare (ya, I know its against the rule but these are going back into storage and i'd like one more just incase one gets broken).  We recycled the plastic cups since they were old and most likely from a dollar store, kept the glass ones, and kept three of the bowls because one of them was small enough to use for dips.  Plus it nested so took VERY little room.

At this point were out of the kitchen box and have managed to clean out half of them.

Next was linens... God help me.

I have... A thing... About wolves... So I collect... things with wolves.  This left me with a sizable collection of wolf blankets, pillows, and sheets.

I really wasn't mentally able to let any go, so we took out two sets to use on our bed and the other 3 were put aside along with any damaged blankets/pillows.  The sheets were donated and Kirita is fixing the pillows and fixing/cutting the blankets up for quilting.  This reduced my collection by 3 boxes.

Next were towels... We've collected towels (beach towels) from events and so we had about 20 towels that I label "Drying towels" and 1 wash cloth... And 4 dish rags (but those were seasonal, so we left those be).  Naturally, a wash cloth is good to have.  But we didn't have any real bathroom set so again we took out the torn for fabric scraps, which left up with 12.  We then donated all but 4 so we could each still have our own towel (plus one for my hair) and a extra for when they were washed.  This surprisingly freed one box.

I know this post has emptied a few boxes but the boxes vary in size-its not the human sized mover boxes.  Just throwing that out there...

Well, I feel way too exposed so imma stop this one here.

Better Late then never...!

Ya, yah...  I'm late.

But I'm posting just a few days short!

So, fun fact...I'm living with a couple of weirdos...

I mean I have inch worm.  But now I also live with a artist (that makes like oodles of fun!), her boyfriend, and my boyfriend... Who seem to have merged souls because we catch them copying each other... Two gamers with no work to do... And a love of sweets.

So I live with "Twins" and a crazy woman.

I know artist can be off their rocker, but my shy friend has cracked her mold.  I'd be proud of her if it wasn't so disturbing.

She's getting giggles out of scaring the crap out of the boys, Preps, is a shopaholic on Amazon (luckily its just a bunch of wish lists...), has mental break downs that are then followed by burst of happy affection...  Funny part, she's mentally sane... So were terrified by that.

Artist types are one broken pencil from going Hanibal Lectur!

But I'm still having fun.  Its still better then where I was even if it is a nut house... Kind of feels homey to be in a house with different personalities.  You see shit like that in those "reality" (HAHAHAH!) shows...  But it actually works out great in real life.

I can still be myself, she can be crazy, the boys... do as they do.  Honestly they blend in with the couch...  No really, they are wearing the same colors as the old snagged up couch their on.  They are blending...

Sal actually told me "Were Camoflaged..."  I nearly died, he just looked so serious as he said it and turned back to Battlefield...  Right as he got sniped.

It was the most enjoyable thing I've seen in a long time... To watch him die for a lame joke.  But I'm abit of a cynic.

Well signing off!  See you next week with real content I hope!

Downsizing! (Because i really need to..!) Part 1

Ya, so as you know, I just moved and its REALLY clear I don't need everything.

So I'm taking a note from my own blog and downsizing.

Why downsize?

Well... You can donate and put that on your taxes or sell and get cash.  Its free money!

So I came up with a few tips that I'm sadly having to follow...

Part 1.  The Week rule.  (Mostly applied to kitchen...)

This means if your not using it ATLEAST weekly, then you don't need it....  The means everything but my bed, computer, kindle, and coffee maker are useless...  But taking my boyfriend into it, that includes his clothes, game systems, and mini fridge.

So... I also took into count things i'll need later but not yet... (because were sharing a house mainly)

I cook so I need my stove, and it cant hurt to keep the microwave and toaster oven since these were commonly used too.

But this leaves me with other items... Like the 4 mixers.  Realistically, I don't bake enough to need the mixing bowl.  I also don't need a single serve blender and a large blender...  We never have company so large one can go!  And lastly is the stick blender.  I feel its useful, but I only paid 15 bucks for it and had it a couple years.

My solution:  Keep my single serve blender (i'll need that for my smoothies and stuff when I move), donate the big mixer and large blender because they just don't get the use to keep suck bulky objects...  And lastly, I'm giving the stick to Kirita, because hers died recently and this one may not make it too much longer either (so not worth donating).

The same was done the toaster we never used, our second toaster oven, One of those key catchers (we really never used that thanks to table of doom..), oh and our table of doom... Because we do everything at our desk anyway.

Next I went through the pots and pans.  Any rusted or overly scratched got recycled.  Because you NEVER willingly use the pan that sticks like crazy or that rusted muffin pan when you can use the clean, stick free one.

We also tossed some things that had me saying "No fucking clue..."  Like what I'm told was a garlic press...  It looked like a nut cracker to me, but I'm taking their word on it...  I probably tried to use it as a nut cracker.

Well, that was a long day...  So you just heard how day one went... (and yes, it was mainly the kitchen boxes but the rule still applies!)

Till next time!

Quick Check In

School starting soon and I figured we'd enjoy a quick touch base.

We are currently moved in... Sorta unpacked... Kind of.  I might still be unpacking my delicates and everything that isn't a coffee machine or electronic...  I know I'm not old, but damn I think teenagers unpack faster then me..

I've started a job search...  Small towns suck.  Being Summer the extra help is filled by high schoolers, the jobs require a friend of a friend for interviews (No, not joking... Small towns hire on who not so much anything else!), and sadly I wasn't the... Um... Most "entertaining" person when I was here...  College changed my moods a lot but I'm still anti gov. and anti social!   And now I live with a local trouble maker!

Its comical when your dearest friend-sweet as can be-is considered a pest to her town for:  speaking out against animal cruelty, calling out bullshit on "high ranking members of society," and of course the unforgivable:  saying the local high school is shit and should spend more on education and less on cheerleaders and football (Le GASP!).  Very unpopular opinions!

Hah, its all interesting though.  More so then when I was a kid.  I still don't much like my hometown, but I enjoy seeing some of my oldest friends...

Aside from that, i'll be looking at taking some courses on Coursera (free college classes, WHOO!), continuing the search for a job, writing here, unpacking (HAH), and hopefully not going nuts.

Oh, another down point?  (Because yall are really after my misery, don't lie, my bitchy post are the most popular!)  I wasn't informed that the house was in need of a roof and floor...  So were pitching in for that.  Ah, and Sal is trying to get a job in security...  Not mall cop type thing but still... I have issues with that.  Mainly because I grew up with no respect for the corrupt local cops (don't get me wrong, theres good ones, I actually liked some of the ones in Atlanta).

So ya.  Theres my dirty laundry.  Speaking of which I need to do laundry (Ahh, home hooked up washer and dryer how I love thee!)

Budget Life: Screenplay

Mobile App-Android

Like Slide Joy but I personally haven't had the best of luck.

I was told it would credit a reward for joining and have ads and that it could run with slidejoy.

I was never credited a reward (after 2 months mind you!) and though I've had EXTRA ads that I had to X out, I've never earned a penny.

I attempted turning off Slidejoy and restarted but after 2 days still nothing even though I've had ads.

I did contact them but no answer after a week...

Soo... try at your own risk, but that's my honest review!

Let's Talk Canning: Storing Properly

Just a quickie on storing Home canned goods… These are from someone who actually cans, I’ve canned maybe once or twice (because she made me join her before we typed this).

1. Remove the rings. These can rest and prevent a bad seal from breaking. You don't want a bad seal to hold since it'll breed the bacteria that kills.

2. Always store in a cool dark place. Pantry, covered cabinets, a crappy mini fridge that doesn't keep food cold but is your table so you cant ditch it... You get the point. Just don't let it sit in direct light.

3. Don't Stack. Same as the rings, if you stack them you can keep a seal from popping when its bad.

4. LABEL! Date and contents. Why? Because this stuffs technically only good so long and a broth looks like a stock, and both look like soup... But they all taste very different.

5. Eat within a year. After a year it starts to lose its taste (according to Ball, but apparently a lot of fruits and jams can taste the same a hundred years later).

6. Check it weekly. I like to check for bad seals each week by poking the top of the lid. If I can push it down or hear it make a popping noise (like they do when their not sealed) then it’s come unsealed and I need to toss the contents and clean the jar. If the lid had sealed when you put it in but unsealed during storage then don't try to reuse it. The food is also possibly spoiled or has bacteria in it already so I wouldn't even taste it to see if its good. Better safe than sorry.

7. (because I like 7 and this is important even if its not about storing) Always check your food before eating. Is it the wrong shade, moldy, smell spoiled, looks spoiled, was easy to open? Then dont chance it. This hasn't happened to her but I've read from other bloggers and Ball site that it can happen. Botulism might be odorless but other stuff is noticeable and can get you sick too.

Also, if a jar was EASY to open that's bad! I promise you a good seal is a pain to break because it was vacuumed onto that jar. You will hear a wooosh as it opens, you will fight to remove it, and it will pop as it breaks! Maybe theres a trick to it that I don't know but I take that fight as a good sign!

Mostly dictated and typed. But she’s not joking, those suckers are hard to open but it is good.

Side note, canning was actually fun. So I might do a few more posts myself after I practice with it.

Moved In...

Oh I'm tired.  We got here and found that half of what we had was useless to have...  They had a bed set up for us, stocked kitchen, ect ect.

So.  Options:  Store it or get rid of it.

So I'm now looking for a cheap storage place to place my extra and donating others.  Naturally I'm keeping a few of my appliances-especially the 20 plus stuff, my bed, and part of my bedroom suite.

Luckily, we have similar love of coffee... So she gave me the mini fridge so I can keep my coffee "station" stuff.

So I'm going to be suffering a few more weeks with more moving.

Upside?  My friend is a blogger who agreed to write a few posts up for me.  She usually blogs on art or gaming (  http://wow-anonymous.blogspot.com/ ) but while I get settled she'll be helping me write blog post on some of the things she does so I wont fall behind.  So if they look different from my usual, its because she is different from my usual...

Enjoy!

Tips for Moving

So I'm moving next week and my friend gave me a bunch of tips on how to pack quickly since she did ALOT of moving as a kid, I'm passing them to you as I try them!

1.  Leave no space unfilled.

Fill your jewelry box with a few socks, throw spices and plastic cookware in your crock pot, put cleaning supplies BACK IN THE BUCKET!  Pretty much you fill every nook and cranny THEN PACK IT, then fill the rest.

2.  Get creative with wrapping and cushioning.  Instead of buying bubble wrap use your pillows, comforters, blankets, and sheets to cover and protect objects.

3.  Plastic wrap is your friend...  Don't unpack drawers, pull them out, seal them with wrap and put them back in!  Same for your cabinets silverware, wrap the organizer rather then pulling it out to pack.

4.  Zip Lock Bag It.  Put cords, devices, and other like minded objects together in larger zip lock bags.  Great for those drawers of ladels, spactulas, ect.  Put them in a gallon bag and then dump them in the new drawer.

5.  Don't take food.  Sure pack lunch and snacks, but trying to move pantry goods like cans will take longer and be heavy.  Instead go to a food bank with all of it and donate it for a tax deductible receipt.

6.  Clean the fridge now.  Eat those frozen dinners and everything a week or two before to prevent waste.  This is the time to splurge on single serve frozen dinners to get you through.

7.  Don't fold the closet.  Take a trash bag and put it around the clothes and hangers.  Now you just have to cut them loose!

8.  Mark boxes.  Make it easy to see where it goes by writing or sticking colored tape to it.

9.  Have a "First Night" Box.  This has a pair of clothes, soap, and a few breakfast bars.  Its pretty much a suit case to get you through the morning and night when your too tired to unpack.

10.  USE THE SUITCASE!  Ever seen someone PACK UP a suit case?  Why aren't you using every bag you have as a box?  If its a nice one then pack it full THEN PACK IT!

11.  Donate a few days before.  Do you need a toaster?  Do you need 8 hammers?  12 shirts that look the same?  The Toys from your childhood that you hide under your bed?  Well call a local charity or go visit them with a box of goods.  Save on taxes later, unpack less later too!

12.  Cancel services and change address NOW!  Ya... I have no services but I am changing address so my packages need to be forwarded and my amazon has to have a change.  You can keep the bills.

13.  When renting, do a good cleaning before leaving.  Were doing this by me shoving EVERYTHING in the front room and then cleaning every other room as it empties.  Then while Sal packs the van I'm cleaning the front room.  Spotless.

14.  If theres a hole in the wall, you can use soap to fill it in.  I think she meant nail holes.  Not a biggie to me, but maybe for you.

15.  Put wrap on liquid bottles and then screw on the cap to prevent leaks.

16.  Have trouble with wires?  Then take a picture of how its connected before unconnecting!

Well that's what I got told, putting it to use this week!

Budget Life: InstaGC.com Be-Gone!

WARNING:  I HIGHLY DISLIKE THIS SITE MYSELF BUT IF YOUR CURIOUS THEN PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE MY LINK!  THESE SITES TEND TO GIVE EXTRA REWARDS TO BOTH PARTIES IF YOUR A REFERAL!

Link:  https://www.instagc.com/1210539

If you just love us, then you can just follow and confirm your email only to help me out.

All the same:

This site allows you to turn spare time and all your valuable info into cash.

Videos, task, surveys, sign ups, referals, and web searches.

Pros:  They use lots of partners so theres ALWAYS something.

Cons:  The pay is crappy for the time you'll put into it for a number of reasons i'll state below.

Side Note:  This account was started by my roomie and I was trying it through her but were both beyond fed up.

*This site has HORRIBLE service.  Ya their quick but their reps are cold and sarcastic and tend to treat you like your unworthy of their time.

*The pay is crap!  Too low for too long!  Surveys give me more for my time.

*50-90% of your offers never seem to credit!  They say to give 11-20 days but after 4 days they delete the proof that you did it!

If you contact them its followed with "Well its not working because your using the same email!"  So... They are actually scamming you and that company.  They'll put up 12 offers by the same site (you'll apply in the hour long process) and do them to the T and then never get awarded because you used "The same email"...

I actually asked out right:  Do I need 100 emails to ever get paid?  "Yes, you need a new email each time."

Well, I tried a different email.  No dice.  In fact our balance sheet is 99% all from the same day we started and after that nothing.

Im currently attempting to cap out with 200 points (AKA $2.00) to cash out and drop this craptastic site.

If you want to risk it then I wish you good luck but I wont be putting my time in anymore with this one and hope anyone else trying has a far different story!

Going Green: K-Cups

K-Cups are popular.  They give you a variety of coffee, it’s always fresh, and it’s just a push away without the normal routine of scoop, pour water, push button-crack I forgot to add the filter-repeat with filter, start, yawn, stare.

Sound about right?  I thought so.

Well K-cups ARE wasteful!  You’re tossing a full cup after one damn cup of coffee and replacing?!  WASTEFUL!  Any environmentalist is cussing you out at 9 in the morning for it when you’re half asleep.  But there is hope!

If done right for can recycle EVERY part of the K-cup!  (You heard right!)

1.  You can get 4   8 oz. cups per cup.  The first 2 are super strong, the next 2 are normal, after that its water.  So if you have a single, keep using it a few times.  If you can fill a pitcher, there ya go!  If you got travel mugs for two then decide who likes it weaker, stronger, or mix.

2.  After your done brewing don't toss!  Set it on the sink to dry out.

3.  Now that it’s not hot and is dry peel off the metal top, rinse off and put in aluminum recycling.  Hey, your recycled part already!

4.  Now, invest in a compost bin or dump directly into a plant.  Plants love coffee grounds and pests tend to hate them.  Sadly, pets also enjoy it so keep the plants out of reach or you might have a twitchy dog.

Other Option:  Make a Coffee Scrub (the grit cleans and the caffeinating is going to energize your skin!

Nother option:  leave them out in a bowl to help deter bugs (haven't tried) or put fully dried grounds in jar or sock and use as an air freshener (mmm, coffee)

5.  Now that you've done that, pull out that piece of cloth.  If you’re composting, toss that in there, it'll break down.  If you’re not composting then toss that ONE part in the trash (hey, can’t be perfect?  Why compost if you don't garden).

6.  Lastly, rinse that cup itself and toss it in the plastic recycling.

And you’re done!

Damn, you just recycled all to everything but the cloth!  Don't you feel good?  Now you can say your green while enjoying that yummy Starbucks coffee from home.

SIDE NOTE:  If you’re using the:

Teas-These can be composted but I have no idea what else to do with them.  You can toss them in your garden as well.  Follow as above.

Hot Chocolate, Latte, Cappi, ect-These are powder based.  Use only Step 2, 3, and 6!

God bless you for helping to save the environment!

Budget Life: SwagBucks

Swagbucks is far from new but after spending a few weeks on it I find it more impressive then some.

You can play swagbucks via the phone or on your computer-and pays more if you do both!

Ways to catch cash:

Random Searches-Not my favorite method.

Watch Vids-I love to let these play through on my phone while I'm busy and on my computer when I don't need the noise/internet (like say while I cook, clean, watch TV...)

Daily Polls- Exactly what it sounds like!

Daily "Crave"-Quick vids/slide shows for points.

Daily Discover-Like crave but you can do task, coupons, ect for points.

Surveys-Answer pain in the rump surveys and most of the time get a point even if you cant do it!  (Better then most).

------if you do 5 of the 6 above you get daily point bonus!---------

Daily caps- Two caps, one for a streak and another for bonus.  Both awarded at the end of the month.

Weekly/Monthly Streaks-reach the dailies each day and your bonuses will boom!

From your phone you can also download games to play and get points too.

Also, shop online?  Swagbucks works like ebates but giving PER dollar rather then on certain items!

Interested?  Then help us out by using this link:  http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/SheWolfLit

How Much it pay?

Every point is worth 1 cent.  So 100=$1.  Not much if you think about it but it adds up and if your diligent it can add up to some serious cash!

How much do you make daily?

I aim for 100-500 points a day.  I have to get atleast 100-150 to reach my daily goals but if I do 500 a day it'll add up to $150 a month!

How can I cash out?

Paypal and gift cards!

Unlike other sites you can get cash via paypal accounts!  But if you watch you'll see sales on gift cards so you can save 5-30% off the point price!

Interested?  Then help us out by using this link:  http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/SheWolfLit

If I sound excited, its because this is hands down my new favorite.  I'm not noticing issues with getting my payments, my points aren't taking forever to arrive, and I have ONE item I was never awarded for (and that was only worth 2 points so its not exactly a huge deal).

So if your looking for side cash or just a way to save for Christmas then give it a try!  And again, please don't forget to use my link!  (I'm not a "partner" with swagbucks, just a user who would love some refers and wants to see her readers profit from letting videos play through while they do whatever they do!).

So again...

Interested?  Then help us out by using this link:  http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/SheWolfLit

Happy Hustling!

The Search Continues

...For More ways to save!

Lets see, I've talked about cutting coupons, and ibotta.....  Whats left.

Oh ya, tons.  I'm currently trying out a ton of survey, coupons, and video apps that I hope to start sharing but till I get a good fill of them, I cant offer a review or suggest.

At this moment I'm going on as a referral to my friends to try myself (signup bonus helps her and me and if I don't like it'll i'll cash out and follow on hers!).  So when I do share, i'll probably share her referral since I'm going to freeze mine so we can focus on pooling recourses (don't do this with your roommates unless it involves food and everyone chips in for that.  In this case I'm chipping in for lack of income while we settle.  All money is being pulled till we get on our feet and can more evenly split bills.  Again, we trust and know VERY well, don't do this yourself!)

So I'm going to keep researching and i'll start giving budget facts next week!

See ya next time

Aww... Have Q&A.

I've got a lot of love and encouragement in emails for moving and best wishes from yall and it is appreciated.  <3

So I figured i'd answer a few questions I've been asked lately.

Who is Inch Worm?

That's my name for my boyfriend, Sal.

When were you in college?

I started back in 2014 but I went back and forth since then do to needs for cash.

You were possessed and in a old house in 2015... Arent you a renter?

Yes, That was actually wrote while staying with my friend who I actually wrote the ghost story about.  I was there during that time and was how I had the experience I later wrote on.

Are you still in college?

I've had to take time off but I am alittle off.  I plan to pick a new school near my new home to finish.

Why move in with your friend?

Because shes a good friend and were both struggling.  She needed a roomie and I wanted a new place to live.

Whats your major?

Though its changed once or twice, it started as Physic, then went towards teaching, now its not really any real major so much as creative writing classes.  I haven't found a good Lit major to follow that wasn't more focused on history or poetry so im mainly just getting a Associates with ALOT of writing.  (shocking isn't?)

You mention your boyfriend but never much, whats he like?

Sal is a big baby (case in point), but I do love him.  He is a big gamer, sometimes a arsehole, and he often says im possessed.  (Im not, hes just a pain!)

Why do you write a blog like this?

I write a random blog because when I first started I had no idea what I wanted... I didn't know what to focus on because I had so many opinions and ideas.  But I didn't wanna spend all my time writing about my opinion.  I didn't wanna do a DIY, cooking, or whatever blog.  I kind of wanted a blog that really said who and what I was.  I enjoy organization (Thus Check List) but my ideas are off the wall and different (thus random!)  SO you got Check List To Random.

I find this fun, enjoyable, and it helps me be less anti social because I love talking with all of you.  When I first started, I never thought i'd have soooo many people looking at the site, emailing me, or following.  So I keep writing for all of you.

Well that's all I feel like writing.  Time to get hammered with the ants!

Friday the 13th!

If your into that then you must be shitting bricks!

<--Might be into that.

Maybe...

Well for those that had to work im sooo sorry for you!

Avoid ladders, smashing mirrors, black cats, and carry salt to toss over your shoulder for protection!

And the rest of you settle in and celebrate with the ending of school and a copy of Friday the 13th.  Because Jason Is watching!

Keep safe yall!

Why have I not been posting?

Im back my sweets, and so sorry for the wait!

I have been unable to post due to a little misunderstanding (put nicely) with google.

If your following weebly then you saw my post about the "Phising" ban that was placed on me.  I also reposted it here for 2/15 so that everyone would know why it just kinda went... poof.

So sadly, I stopped posting on weebly too (since Google owns so much, I was scared i'd get banned there too!).

Needless to say, all of my google blogs were locked down, my email was limited, and im just not getting everything up and running.

What does that mean for the blog?

Well, i'd like to try and back date the post I was going to post so both blogs will still have the content instead of a HUGE gap.  But that will take time.  After the 2nd would be April post I stopped writing out of depression so I don't want the other posts to fall behind too.

So for now, the post are going to be... Awkward.  Im going to start from the back so no post get missed by those who don't follow but im going to try and do 2-3 till I catch up.

So please bare with me and thank you so much for staying with me during this!

Budget Life: Money Saving Apps!

Stop me if you've heard this one before but ibotta.   (Click that link to see my very first review of the app!  No I am not paid to do this)

(Want to make more with this app?  Put me as a referral or add my roomie as a friend if you've already started!  http://ibotta.com/r/lfafxgu )

Why am I reviewing again?  Because I want you to see it has worked and mention a few changes.

First the use is the same.

Unlock a product, scan the barcode, QR, or take a picture (depending on store).

You NO LONGER HAVE TO SCAN EVERY BARCODE OF THE ITEMS!

Its SO much faster.

Not to mention, on cash back alone I bought all the Christmas gifts last year via amazon gift cards.  Now I have even more!

Where can you use it?

Hundreds of stores including Walmart, Target, Food places (I know Chili's is on there actually), Pet Smart, Whole Foods, Sam's Club...  Places that accept coupons tend to be on the list.  Even Dollar General and Family Dollar.  I found pharmacies like Rite Aid and Walgreens too.  More then likely, a store you go to is on the list.

What can you use it on?

Cloths, Pet stuff (Limited amount honestly), Electronics, food, liquor (Oh yes, MANY wine and vodka choices were listed for select brands!), containers, Office supplies, ect.

What brands are included?

Most main brands seem to be featured.  Ziploc, Tyson, Olay, Dial, Chobani....  But my favorite is the "Any Brand" ones so I can get my favorite brand.

Is it for certain items/flavors?

Some are.  I know for like a Brita Rebate for filters, it was only good for the pitcher filters, not the ones you put on your sink.  But most were "Any variety" with exclusions on anything smaller then so many ounces.  There are some specific ones though, yes.

Have much have you saved?

Im over 200 bucks in savings this year alone and I can use this with coupons, other apps, ect!

Half of my food ends up being free after all my rebates and apps are used!

You can get gift cards to stores and Amazon but I like Amazon best to buy books and gifts at the end of the year.  Its like a personal savings account.  You can also have it sent to a Paypal if you'd prefer cash back.

(Want to make more with this app?  Put me as a referral or add my roomie as a friend if you've already started!  http://ibotta.com/r/lfafxgu )

Why do I keep asking you to add my roomie as a friend?  Because she buys stuff off Amazon Pantry and we cant double use the purchases so she's making hers our main account.  So please add her and help us both eat!  I also get a portion of it back around Christmas so help a sister out?

Hah, well all the same save you so cash and move on from struggling to saving!
